Contract signed by ATMOS International and GASSCO AS

November 2006 -  ATMOS International Ltd - UK and GASSCO AS - Norway have signed a contract for the development of software with new advanced functionalities to replace GASSCO's existing Pipeline Management System. 

GASSCO has designed a detailed specification that includes extensive functional reviews and testing of this new system to manage GASSCO's complex operations .  GASSCO's preparation for this project included several months' review of its application needs, and in depth evaluation of the ATMOS capabilities.  This project will deliver the most advanced and reliable Gas Management System available in the market place by 2008.

Gassco is the operator of the largest sub-sea gas pipeline networks in the world. It is responsible for transporting Norwegian gas to continental Europe and the UK through a 7,800-kilometre network. The company carried 81.51 billion cubic metres of dry (sales) gas to market in 2005, about 15 per cent of total European gas consumption.
