Home > Information > FAQ > How does ATMOS Pipe accommodate the effects of Pigging?

Pigging a pipeline effects both the flow and the pressure how does ATMOS Pipe accommodate these changes?

Pigging does introduce changes in the flow and pressure data, it reduces pipeline friction as well. The flow and pressure change more during pigging. ATMOS will change the statistical parameters to slightly less sensitive settings when it is informed of the pigging operation, such that it will not generate nuisance alarms due to the more noisy data. Leaks will still be detected during pigging but the detection time will be longer.
