In the Software Development team delivering working code is what we live for. Key Accountabilities include:

  • Taking ownership of assigned development through to release and subsequent support via:
    • Taking pride in writing great, maintainable code with a key focus on what it looks like to someone (or you!) coming to it in a year’s time
    • Rolling your sleeves up to make sub-optimal code better
    • Tackling complex scenarios to prove your debugging chops
    • Refactoring code safely by writing unit tests as part of code improvement
  • Taking part in agile style planning & demos of delivered code
  • Identifying opportunities to make the code better and the development process smoother (fewer bugs, earlier feedback)
  • Adhering to the coding and UI standards
  • Reviewing others’ code constructively to ensure the codebase is on an ever-improving curve
  • Identifying and proposing improvements to standards
  • Ability to deliver within agreed timescales
  • Helping to bring the future into the everyday.

 Required Skills/Experience 

  • C# 4+
  • Automated Testing
  • Ability to write unit tests
  • Object Oriented Design Skills
  • An understanding of what good code looks like and the ability to produce it
  • Experience of refactoring legacy code
  • Awareness of developments in programming techniques & tools
  • Maths/Physics/Algorithms
