ATMOS International was founded in 1995 in Manchester UK, by the inventor of Shell’s Statistical Pipeline Leak Detection (SPLD) system. Following the successful replacement of a number of unreliable systems, ATMOS Pipe was accepted by most major oil and gas companies such as Shell, BP, ExxonMobil and Total.
Since the setup of a representative office in the US in 1999, ATMOS Pipe has been installed on 150 pipelines in North and South America. With associated offices in China and Costa Rica and local agents in 24 countries, our multi-cultural and multilingual team can provide effective support to you all over the world.
To maintain the technical leading position in pipeline leak detection and to develop other advanced solutions for our clients, ATMOS International invests 40% of its revenue in research and development. For example, our pipeline simulation software – ATMOS SIM is the result of ten years’ innovative development by a team of scientists, software and project engineers. The successful application of the hydrant tightness monitoring system to some major international airports is another example of continuous research and development.
More recently we have successfully launched a complimentary leak detection system – ATMOS Wave that can detect both thefts and leaks reliably and locate them within +/-400 meters.
