Running to raise funds for the world’s largest independent funder of cancer research
20 colleagues from Atmos International’s (Atmos) UK office recently ran the annual AJ Bell Great Manchester Run to help raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK.
The Great Manchester Run consists of 10k, half marathon and wheelchair events, with 8 Atmos colleagues completing the 10k and 12 completing the half marathon.
From Batman to dinosaur costumes, over 35,000 participants came out in full force to brave the distance.
Despite temperatures reaching 20 degrees Celsius at points, all Atmos colleagues achieved impressive times. This year Atmos’ best 10k time was set by Liam Callagher (Team Delivery Lead - Software Development) at 49:55. There was also a tight race in the half marathon with the following times:
- 1:40:37, David Bisby (Product Expert - Software Development)
- 1:41:12, Manu Leach (Associate Project Engineer)
- 1:41:46, Oliver Port (Senior Project Engineer)
Organizer of Atmos’ Great Manchester Run Oliver Port said: “Once again, team Atmos turned out in full force for this year’s Great Manchester Run.
It was fantastic to see so many of us coming together and running to support such a meaningful cause, even in the boiling hot weather!”
Atmos’ runners have already hit their target of £500 for Cancer Research UK and there’s still time to donate here. Every donation funds scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner.
