Atmos returns to GreatUniHack to meet a new generation of tech talent

On October 28 and 29, Atmos sponsored and attended GreatUniHack, an annual hackathon hosted by UniCS, the computer science society at the University of Manchester. This event has previously been chaired by one of our former software development interns and we are pleased to have been involved for the previous two events.

The 24 hour event adheres to the Major League Hacking (MLH) code of conduct to bring together the best in the UK’s tech community through collaboration and innovation.

Atmos is built on similar values of fresh thinking, being brilliant together and maximizing our potential, so we recognize the importance of identifying those values in others.

Our attendance at last year’s GreatUniHack event led to the recruitment of three interns, Dilan, Ali, and Madhavan, who continue to be valuable additions to our Software Development team.

This year, Liam Callagher, Paul Goulden, Dilan Patel and Ali Lakho returned to represent Atmos at the hackathon event where they engaged in more conversations with the next generation of tech talent, provided mentorship, insight into our solutions and offered internship opportunities.

Team Delivery Lead Liam Callagher has represented Atmos at GreatUniHack for both years and he said “GreatUniHack has a proven track record of simultaneously offering a fun weekend for the next generation of developers and providing us with the opportunity to talk to exciting new talent that can set the company up for continued success in the future.

I’m pleased that my colleagues and I have had the opportunity to come back this year.”
