The May 06, 2010, National Transportation Safety Board acknowledgment of PHMSA Safety Recommendation P-05-5 is prompting the US pipeline operators without CPM systems to reconsider their options. P-05-05 states “Require operators to install computer-based leak detection systems on all lines unless engineering analysis determines that such a system is not necessary.”
