Washington State updates pipeline legislation

The Washington State Department of Ecology updated rules for pipeline operators who move oil through the state. The updated rule, ‘the oil spill contingency plan rule’, requires pipeline operators to commit to more comprehensive oil spill response planning.

Calgary-based Wolf Midstream will acquire a 50% ownership interest in Access Pipeline from Devon Energy for $1.4 billion. The Access system includes pipelines transporting blended bitumen and diluent between the Christina Lake area of northeastern Alberta and Edmonton.
